Pullem Family Page

The Pullem Family consists of Chris and Lisa, married in 2002, Jordana, born September 2003, and Caroline, born June 2005. This blog is a place for us to give family and friends a glimpse of what our life is like with 2 small girls... funny, messy, hectic, and wonderful!

Well, I've not been posting as much since we moved... I guess I'm still adjusting! But today I've got about 15 minutes before Jordi gets up, so that's plenty of time to get a couple pictures on the blog:

Jordi still isn't bored with writing her name, and I still think it's pretty amazing! This picture was taken at the Ford's house; they have a nice, black driveway that's perfect for "chalking"!

This picture of Caroline was also taken at the Ford's house. This car is her favorite toy; she loves to climb in it and say "bye! bye!", and can even propel it backwards on her own!

Moving Day(s)

Well, we made it! Last Friday was the official Moving Day. What a long, hot day that was! (At least we were smart enough to hire movers to do all the heavy lifting!) But of course, moving house is a process that takes much more than one day, and we didn't stay in our new home until Sunday night.

Here is a picture from Saturday. Tim borrowed Hokie's truck so that he could help Chris move the girls' playhouse to its new location. As you can see, it's not small! Anyway, it wouldn't fit on the moving truck on Friday, so it had to be moved separately. One of the best things about living here in Ashland is that there are always family members around to help you out!

It's Popsicle Season!

Is there anything better than a frozen Flavorice on a hot summer day? I took this picture today and, boy, did those icy treats hit the spot! It was 90+ degrees in the shade and very humid (y'know, the kind that makes you sweat by just standing outside? Yeah, yuk!) So, after supper we stopped by the new house so we could have popsicles on our new stoop. It was great!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Al!

Also known as Chris' brother, Aaron, came home to Ashland for a visit last weekend. Happily, this coincided with his birthday on July 1st, and we were able to have a family celebration. Of course, Jordi helped Granddad bake & frost the delicious chocolate cake pictured below. The other cake is red, white, & blue (and vanilla!) in anticipation of the Fourth of July holiday! Here is a cute picture of the girls helping Uncle Al blow out all his candles!

Jordi Writes Her Name

No, I'm not kidding! This summer, "chalking" has been one of Jordi's favorite activities. We've all spent countless hours outside with her, drawing all kinds of shapes, hopscotch squares, stick figures, etc. Recently, she's shown an interest in drawing letters. It started with a "J", and once she got the hang of that, her interest naturally progressed to the other letters of her name. Then, last week, completely on her own, this is what she wrote:

I didn't coach her at all; she started with "J" and wrote them out in the proper order (but ran out of room after the "D", which is why the "I" is out in front)! Impressive!

Jordi Goes to a Birthday Party

Recently, Jordi attended her first Official Birthday Party of a Non-Family Member. Her friend Jillian Thacker turned 4, and her parents celebrated by hosting a wonderful, kid-friendly, shindig in their humongous backyard! There were lots of fun games, activities, & other kids to play with, not to mention a beautiful Disney Princesses cake. All in all, it was a great time and I think Jordi really enjoyed herself!

It didn't take long to get the hang of things at the finger painting table!

Here's Jordi showing off the beautiful yellow flower painted onto her hand. Jillian's older sister, Jordan, was in charge of the Face Painting activity, and she did a great job painting all sorts of artistic images on the children!

Here's the Birthday Girl opening her gift from Jordi (under close supervision, as you can see!) Jordi picked it out herself: a bubble gun plus an extra container (half gallon size, of course!) of bubbles!

More Pictures from Renee's Visit

Here are a couple more of my favorite pictures from Aunt Renee's visit...

Isn't that cute to see Jordi trying to be just like Aunt Renee? That's Jordi with her toy computer sitting right next to Aunt Renee with her real one! I guess they're both trying to get some work done...

I'm finding it very challenging to get a picture in which both girls are looking ahead & smiling... so even tho Caro is looking away, it's still a good photo of Aunt Renee & her nieces!
