Jordi's Yearly Check-up

Since Jordi turned four this month, she was due for her annual wellness check-up. So, Tuesday morning, off we went and walked to the doctor's office - luckily, it's only 2 blocks away!

She's not saluting; Jordi's showing you the band-aid on her middle finger! She got this from the finger-stick the nurse gave her in order to test her blood for iron. Once it was over, she was proud to show off her purple badge of courage! (Little did she know how much more courage she was going to need a little bit later when it was time to receive her 3 booster shots!)

Our experience definitely earned us a trip to the Jolly Pirate counter! The exam was uneventful, but it ended up taking two of us to hold Jordi during her shots. Even so, the nurse still ended up sticking Jordi's right arm FIVE TIMES in order to get that last shot delivered properly! It was bloody & just awful! (Poor Caroline just about tied a dreadlock in her hair by the time it was all over!) Anyways, all was forgotten when the girls spied the latest edition of their favorite sprinkle-covered donut: Halloween colors! Yummy!

By the way, 4-year-old Jordi now measures 40 3/4 inches and weighs 34 pounds!

Jordi -- I'm sorry about your ordeal at the Dr.'s office -- it's tough getting older. You looked very brave.
